Five Star Reads Young Adult (KS3)

City of Bones

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder — much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Clary knows she should call the police, but it’s hard to explain a murder when the body disappears into thin air and the murderers are invisible to everyone but Clary. Equally startled by her ability to see them, the murderers explain themselves as Shadowhunters: a secret tribe of warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. Within twenty-four hours, Clary’s mother disappears and Clary herself is almost killed by a grotesque demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know….

I loved this book a lot because the action never stops. The demons never stop coming and Valentine is determined to wipe out the Shadowhunter race and replace it with a stronger, better and more obedient.

Clary and her new friends must defeat Valentine and his demons before its too late. Will they manage to stop Valentine or will they all die?

This book is good for people who like adventure books. I would recommend to read this book if your fine with death and killing.

This book is fantastic and I really enjoyed it. I loved it when Clary’s mother mother disappeared. I also enjoyed it when Jace has to protect Clary from the demons and teach her how to defend herself. This book is so enjoyable and I recommend it to anyone who is in Year 7 onwards. I enjoyed this book so much and I’d like to know which one is next in the series.
